I need a new set of front shocks for the black 2.5-16 :( , but when I went to order them from MB, I found out they are no longer available. :(
Does anyone know the corresponding Bilstien number?

No longer available??????? What??????? They really are washing their hands of these cars aren't they.

I just ordered a new Boge SLS strut from ECP and i noticed that they had the front struts for sale too. It might be worth having a look on there. I'm not sure if they would list the part numbers though.

I have Europarts number for the Bilstiens:625220215, but I'm not sure it's correct.

You can add them to basket on the mercedes parts website so I guess they're in stock?

http://www.mercedes-benz-parts.co.uk/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&sku=a2013204430+&Search=Go&page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&option=com_virtuemart

Not as much as I thought they would be either!

This is for the Shock Absorber

LINK

£120.06 So more than the Damper Strut £85.45. I take it the damper is just an insert? And the Shock absorber the whole unit? ^o)

I've checked with Bilstein .com and they're not listed, but the rear ones are.

I'm sure there'll be stock of them knocking around somewhere Michael.

Did your local dealer check all of the UK main dealers group stock, Milton Keynes and Germany etc?

Failing that, I'd approach Bilstein directly. Being that they manufacture the shocks for MB they would probably be best to advise on the most suitable replacement :)

I would imagine that there's plenty of old 2.3/2.5-16s out there (older than yours!) running around on the original shocks still. New dampers make a marked improvement on most older cars B)

That's not bad at all :) Are they the same shocks as the 2.3's?

I dont know Stu, but if you pm me your chassis number, I'll be able to tell you.
This is what I subscribe to and you can too, for €17.
It's worth every cent. :D

ASorry to HJ the thread, chaps, but how long will a set of front springs usually last? I'm going to do my dampers, and thought, on the "while you're down there..." principle...?

If your unsure about the springs change them is my advise, no point in having new shocks with springs past there best.

Had them fitted yesterday, but replacing the springs is something I've overlooked, so I'd better get them now.
