Wait for someone else to come along. I am told it is springs out and shocks off as you have to get into the tower to deal with the bolts therefore spring compressor.

The 3 bolts around the outside hold the topmount to the top of the strut tower.

Problem is the shock absorber is bolted through it, so you need to get the top of the shock out of the way to change it.

You need to drop the shock out of the way & the topmount has to go down & out, so the shock has to be out of the way, if that makes sense.

You'll have to remove the shock to get the topmount out. (unless someone more experienced advises otherwise)

Good luck.

edit: no, dont need springs out .. just the shock.

undo the nut on top of the shock and push it down and out of the way and then unbolt the shock mount

I don' think you can push the whole thing down and then get the topmount off the top of the shock !

Unless you're superman, or your shock is knackered !

Jack up the car and put on axle stand (for each side) would be better if you can use a trolley jack.

Undo 3 nuts on the top of the mounts, put the trolley jack under the middle of the hub, undo the big nut (21mm iirc) and loose down. You will have to push the shocker top down to get the top mount out, replace top mount with new, and do everything in reverse.

I know its easier to write about something than do it, but I'm sure anyone wityh a bit of mechanical knowledge should be able to do this in about 30 ins each side.

Hope this helps.

Robbie, dead handy to do about 20mins a side. By the way you'll notice the difference straight away if yours are anyway bad. It's very advisable to get a 4x4 wheel alignment carried out after fitting.
