Hello to you all, i was hoping any of you could help me out with a little question. 1: My gaz pedal has about a whole inch of loose play at the very top before anything happens when depressing it. I got in a BMW last night (E30) and the gaz pedal in that one had absolutely no loose play. RPM's go up as soon as you make contact with the pedal. This leads me to beleive that the 190 should also be like that. Could any of you give me instructions on how to "tighten" the gaz pedal in order to eliminate any loose play at the very top? (hopefully you understand what i mean by "loose play") 2: And secondly, I've noticed that the friction point on the clutch is quite high. Its at about 85% of the pedal. Is there any way to lower the friction point to about 65-70% of the clutch pedal?? Can someone give me instructions on how to "thighten" or "loosen" the clutch cable a bit? Many thanks. And hopefully you guys understand this question as well. Many thanks, and looking forward to your replies. Ivan |

Furthermore, while cleaning up the inside of the car not long ago, i found this little device in back of the gaz pedal. It was a sort of premature gaz pedal stoper, my car being a 1.8 i said i'll have none of that (need as much power as i can get) so i removed it. The only difference i've seen is your able to push the pedal a little deeper, an unbeleivably minimal power gain. Was that a wise action on my part? Is the little stoper really that important to the cars operation? |

Hi, the accelerator cable may need clipping back into its guides, check this first. then the adjustment is by removing the clip on the convoluted part, moving the conduit back and re-clipping. Pictures would help a lot but i'm nowhere near my car at the moment im sorry. And as for the clutch cable, its a hydraulic clutch. i'd check/have the clutch thickness checked And the pedal stop, not sure what it does really, other that stop the mat from jamming the pedal, and limiting pedal travel. and fills the hole where the kickdown switch would be on an auto. |
