I'm going with Richy on this one, much more reasonable. MB really do take the **insert swear word here** some times. I can understand on some items but a wheel bearing ffs! |

i normally take my hubs to a local small engineering firm, who will press the old ones out and the new ones in for a tenner with a hydraulic press otherwise you're looking at about £400 for the proper tool and as said £30 from GSF for oem onesEdited by shrekky, Wed May 12, 2010 8:43 pm.

use a hydraulic press! You will ruin the universal puller and even the genuine puller sometimes collapses. regards, Christian |

maybe i dont need the puller ? i was assuming it had to come off first ! I need to remove the whole hub assembly , so i can take it to machinist . the bolt that holds the caliper on has snapped in the carrier ! |

so why not go to a scrap yard, get another one and have the new bearing fitted into that one ?..................that way you dont have to mess about with a snapped bolt |
