I recently got Marvs car in for some seemingly small jobs.
One of which was to reattach a botched fitted slam panel and repaint to the front bumper.
The slam panel had been self tappered down by a previous owner.
I stripped the vehicle of its slam and bumper, and upon which i did decided to strip the whole front end to investigate a very badly done repair to the NSF corner.
Heres a vid of the findings
Posted Image
It showed very bad corrosion to the inner wing, outer wing mounting brkt, headlamp bowls.
The wing was removed only to find more botched work.
The headlamp bowl on the NS had been poorly repaired and attached, and some rot to the battery tray area had worked its way in to the main front clip attachment area(Where it joins the Apost).
All the rot was cut away,a new slam panel was ordered and new metal welded in where needed.
The repairs needed were, new inner wing area fabbed and welded in,battery box area reapired, main A post seam reapired, small repairs to the headlamp bowls and a repair to the outer wing.
A before pic of the inner wing area.
Posted Image
After all repairs to the front wing area and A post/battery tray areas.

Posted Image

The car is now awaiting paint to the inner areas and slam area of the engine bay and a few other little jobs.
I will keep this thread updated as Marv has requested.

Outwardly the car looked A1,but it is after all a 20Yr old car so not doing too badly considering.
If the Front corner accident damage was done correctly this rot would never have been.
P.S Sorry for the crap photos, looked alright on my phone LOL.
I will take my camera to work and get some better ones.

I've always used that one when I think something is nice, so it would appear it has a different meaning that I thought it had.

What is it supposed to reflect? :ermm:

You ain't really that far then. I keep that in mind when I have loads of dosh for loads of work!

Oh, yeah I know the A55 v.well. I've been very lucky on that road. Second last time I tried to follow a Mits EVO 8 or 9 heading for the ferry he was nabbed, glad then the 16V was'nt near as quick :D The time previous heading East from the ferry it was an A8 that got nabbed.

I'll pass Michael, thanks even if you used the 16V instead of the 55. My U.K. D/L is actually now clean but the Irish one is not great currently, so it would be nice to have one clean D/L. Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it

I can say the pictures don't do justice to the work Andy has done. On my visits to Chester I was able to see the before and after of Marv's car.

It once again reminded me of why I drive all the way up there for work to be done on my car.

Marv is a cool chap and his car is a really nice example of a valver - very original and tidy.
