Basically I had my light come on "after" I moved forward... did the OVP thing...cleaned or tried to clean the sensors (thank you for the info on how to) but the bugger came back on... not having the electro gadget on hand I opted to lift the car...spun the wheel as fast as I could...right wheel abs lit up.... left wheel...nope, rear wheels yep...went to scrappers got a left wheel sensor and presto no light...

Recap, lift car spin wheel...light comes on sensor is working...

Regards...

You need a multi meter and set it on to ohm's if you get a reading of about 850/1100 they are ok, when they are usually shot you don't get a reading at all.

I had a abs fault on my early 1986 2.3 16v that I have just sorted, the abs light would go off on start up and come on when you move foward, with the car up in the air the rear wheels would not put the abs light on both front wheels would.

I fitted spare sensors that had even though the reading was ok on them
Tried a new ovp
It ended up being the ecu that people said to me never go, I had a spare abs ecu from a abs2 system(87 onwards) with a plastic body from a 2.6 with a different part number and It solved the fault!
