Bought in June, pretty much standard, had LPG fitted then my EZL packed up so I took it off the road and sorted the following; Removed remnants of an antique car phone system and alarm, Fixed central locking, Colour coded cladding, Fixed broken fog lamp, Replaced rear bumper chrome, Replaced rear bumper brackets, Re-keyed a second hand door lock, colour coded door handles and wing mirrors, Stripped and re-painted NSF wing Fitted a floppy rubber aerial Changed rocker cover gaskets, Fitted the Kerschers (dave_irl's) I got from Russ, currently running 22mm spacer at back and 10mm at front with stretched 205/55's all round Made a flip down number plate out of some IKEA cupboard hinges for the LPG filler Fitted a reflective rear panel. Modified my parcel shelf to fit a W210 rear blind, recovered with cream vinyl, W140 blind switch in place of radio fader ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see the next job on the list is to sort out the sagging headliner |

The wheels are ET15, the rears could easily go out to ET-15 with the tyres i have on it, the fronts stick out a bit but i had to space them to fit the whhel caps. I havent lowered it but im sure the springs are sagging quite a bit. |

At the minute I dont think it all ties in just yet. It needs hitting with a big stick (lowering in other terms). Lower profiles are needed, 55's are far too big. But other than that nice SEC. If it was mine I would start buy sorting out some lowering springs plus uprated shocks, then fit lowe profiles and get some proper stretch, maybe a light tint to the windows. |

i was going to do the opposite, get some new stiffer lowering springs but with thicker pads and try and go up to 65 profile tyres, i think the shape of the arches doesnt really lend to rubber band type tyres they just look tiny and rediculous. |

im using it daily now without a lot of time for cleaning etc so its looking a little tatty, but i keep on top of thing mechanically. The recent salted roads havent odne much good, some of the rear arch repairs are starting to show, the whole car needs a re-spray but theres no point yet as it needs the panel under the rear screen fixing beforhand. Wheels arent looking their best either, but it still runs and thats the important bit i guess! I had to get the centre silencer replaced recently to get it through the MOT, i got it replaced with 2 straight through bits of stainless, theres slightly more grunt but nothing rediculous. Im looking at sorting the stereo soon, I was thinking to put a sub and amp in the parcelshelf where the storage boxes are but keeping the same shape as the boxes. |

poking around at a 50p rust spot on my rear arch turned into most of the arch being rotten and full of filler. Local bodyshop quoted me £275 to roll a new arch and respray the rear quarter, I didnt think there was much point just painting that quarter when the whole lot needs doing so we're going to it. They are doing the arch over the next 2 days, then Ill set out taking off all the trim and doing a bit of prep, them monday its going back to the shop to have the rear screen removed and and rust fixed along with all any other body rust I find. The shop is a bit bacstreet but they do decent work at a decent price. They quoted me £700 to do the rear screen and full spray, allowing for anymore rust to be uncovered it shouldnt come to more than £1000. Also got everything I need to do the timing chain and guide rails, should keep it going for another hundred thousand miles. |

yeah i saw that, unfortunatly ive had one sitting on my balcony for the last 4 months, i did get it with a little discount though. Spent the weekend stripping down the car for the bodyshop, saved myself a good 6 hours of labour and didnt even break anything. Took everything off bar the glass, bumpers, indicators and mirrors as i had to drive it to the shop, most of the interior is out as well. Was a very cold drive this morning without any window seals etc. The windscreen guy is coming to tak out the rear screen today and then they are getting on with the rust. I was worried as the LPG tank is right under where they will be cutting and welding but they are confident they can do it without blowing up their shop by putting some sheel metal over the tank and some fire blankets. Getting the headliner re trimmed while its out and going to put in a DAB aerial, even though I dont have a DAB head unit i may get one in the futture and dont really want to have to take the headliner down again. Ill try and get some pics of the progress. Need opinions on tinting as well, was thinking of doing the rear screen while its out so we can get the film under the seal so its seamless. Whats the lightest shade you can get, I still want to be able to see out of it? |

all that was left of the phone system was some motarola elecronics in the boot and an RJ45 socket in the centre console, it was only the alarm wiring and sensors left. I binned it all as it was no use to anyone. Just stopped off at the bodyshop, windscreen is out and he managed to do it without cutting the seal. So now I have a spare £124 seal and spare rear windscreen i bought just in case the original cracked. There was so much rust under there its a good job i do have the repair panel mentioned earlier. |

Ive decided to get the aerial hole welded over, may or may not get one of these http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Kinetic_DRA-1001_FM-AM_DAB_car_aerial.html put on the roof |
