Got a chance to buy a box, does it just fit in place of my old 5 speed manual box or are other modifications required?

I think the prop shaft is of different length. Not sure though so wait for ather members to confirm.
Check DaveIrl 's posts as he did the same some time last year I think.
You may also benefit from the 2.3 16v flywheel and clutch as it is 228 mm.

Flywheel, clutch, propshaft, gearlever, Iam not all sure about the flywheel & clutch when i think of it, maybe the 2.0 will fit.
16v is just bigger to handel the higher torq/power....

My car is a track car, and so i never use the overdrive 5th gear. The getrag box has a 1:1 5th and the other 4 gear ratios are spaced closer together which should keep the engine in the desired rev range (4000-6000) longer.

Also my engine is turbo charged and makes some 430nM torque so I'm also worried th standard box may not be up to it.
