Got as far as taking the board that holds the switches for windows,hazard etc .out around the selecter yesterday ..but how do you get at the actual bulb that illuminates the P,D,N 2,3. .i take it its in the black plastic box ,but dont want to force anything . Any ideas ?? |

I had to take the black box off to change the gear selector, and just gently prised it off, it was tricky but it goes. |

The bulb holder sits just under the front left edge of the unit once you have removed the wooden surround. If you move the switch cables out of the way you will see two wires going in. If you gently pull these down and to the front you will pull out the bulb holder. change the 12v .04 watt bulb and push back under. |

Yes aemt is right you don't have to take the plastic box off, I remember now from when I fitted my electric windows and switches, I was wondering what the wires were for and it is as aemt says, just pull them gently down and forward and the bulb holder comes out. |

After all that 'big spending' try the scrappy alan, that's where I get my bulbs. And they normally let you have them for nowt

the first thing to go from the scrapper cars are the bulbs ....every single one !! So its YOU taking them all !!! Come on .... own up ,What do you want with 3 million assorted bulbs ?? L.O.L.

Yeah but I hate taking the trim apart so hopefully a new bulb will last longer and anyway when I grab a bulb from the breakers I leave them in my jeans and they go through the was lovely and clean but don't work lol |

Done my bit for the day fitting a bulb to the selecter display . bit of a pain undoing 4window,hazard,doormirror adjust and kid safety rear window switches to get at the thing !!! ...But i got there !! Thanks Guys .And if i want any bulbs i,ll get in touch with you B.a. ..and if i want clean ones.....i,ll buy them new ,not washed , Alan

I won't be buying them new either £2.15+vat each no chance How do you get the board up as I'm gona swap the buld from one of the heater knob bulbs as I can't drive in the dark cause I can't find reverse lol |

Tako out the inner surround then gently prise the wooden panel up. It is only pushed in with no fastenings |

Go gently alan and start prizing it up from the back, but try not to touch the laquere. When it's up you will need to disconnect all the plugs to the switches. |

It wasn't as hard as I had thought more probs finding the bulb but followed the wire and swapped out for a halfords 45p bulb great thing trade cards lol |
