Hi; When the car is running the rear brake lights stay without the brake pedal being depressed. The Back Up /Reverse light is also staying on. Any thoughts on what might be the culprit? Fuse? Brake Pedal Switch ? Wiring Short somewhere? Thanks Brian |

could be a relay, have you checked the switch on the brake pedal? -the springs? checked the wiring loom in the boot? water likes to fudge around with electrics in there/ id check the switch on the b-pedal first, and the actual light holder, wires and connections, also it has been ultra cold lately does muck around the electrics on cars.two of my staff at work reported problems with elec window and soft tops not working, soon as it got warm again, problem dissappeared, though iv a feeling yours insnt related . keep us posted smiffy |

Thanks took it to a great repair shop with MB experience. Mechanic cleaned and dried out some switches. One on the transmission somewhere related to back up lights etc. Will go with the flow..so to speak for a bit and see if it holds. Otherwise it will need replacing. On a second note LOL... My tachometer just stopped working... Dang... I know it is related to fuse number 10 which I just replaced awhile back. I give that a shot again and see what it does Its an 8 amp as the vehicle does not have heated seats. ![]() Edited by brianhicks, Sun Feb 21, 2010 5:20 pm.
