Check fuse number 13 Alan, might be blown or dirty contacts. When you take it out to check clean the contacts in the fuse holder. 8 amp. Ps check fuse number 12 as well as that is normally for the C.Locking Edited by balamb37, Thu Feb 25, 2010 12:28 am.

Had a similar problem a few weeks ago - symptoms were flat battery, reconditioned and recharged, battery lasted a week, then one very wet night had to take a youngster home who we had been babysitting, set off, window wipers, lights, heater, by the time I got to Chester (about 8 miles), everything was just about dead, so had to come home with nothing on except parking lights - bit scary in all that cold nasty weather. I think after checking your fan/alternator drive belt is okay and not slipping, wd forty your fuse box and check fuses, then if your battery seems okay your in luck, if not it sounds like it may be a new alternator, Sorry but you did ask |

Up in scotland its been falling all day only started to lye this afternoon and its about 6-8 inches in places round town Battery has been fine lights, fan, radio, heated window all running and no probs with them so doubt its the alternator I've had one fail before and I've had the belt let go but they gave different symptons The dash lights still worked but the hazards don't aren't most of these things on different circuits??? Ill check the fuse tomorrow if I can find the car under the snow it was soo bad the gritters couldn't get up the hills if only they started sooned not at 9.30pm twats |

Clean the contacts and the fuse ends as these can cause problems over time, i would think that will sort your problem. |

What gets me is that all was fine when I started work it just happend about 3/4 the way through the night I noticed the clock had stopped and the boot light was out then started to notice the rest it was all kinda sudden rather than a gradual thing ill need to start pulling fuses see what happens |

That seems like the symptoms for 'fuse contact' probs. it does suddenly happen although it can sometimes be intermittant, like sometimes working and sometimes not. Pretty common with fuse numbers 10, 12, 13, 14, although it can happen with any fuse, just a matter mostly of taking the fuse out and cleaning the end contacts in the holder as well as the fuse, |
