Hi!

I have noticed on my dadīs 190E there is one kind of kickdown connection at the engine, but on the replacement gearbox Iīve bought there is another kind of connection. Does this mean Iīm in deep trouble when it comes to swapping the gearbox? Do I have to get into the gearbox to change the cable or can it be done from outside?

Haynes donīt tell anything about changing the cable, so Iīm a bit worried about this...

Any help appreciated! :help:

Got this figured out, seems to be easy to attach and remove the whole cable at the gearbox. Good news for the upcoming gearbox swap, for once. :D

As said, donīt bother about this anymore.

I hope you find it easier than I am doing at the moment,
I have got to hand it to the people who do this for a living,
If I was double jointed, and had fingers about a foot long it would be easier,
Four top bell housing bolts yet to remove, and then the box should be out,I am making a spanner to get at them ^o)
I think I got my ability mixed up with my ambition on this one :driver:

you can get the bellhousing bolts from below by using a few long extension bars :)

I tried that Rich
maybe I wasnt dropping the box low anough,it looks like the exhaust down pipes will have to be taken off,[bugger]
it looked like the engine was against the bulkhead, when tilted,I am going to have another go in the morning,
I am fed up of my missus saying I told you so, :(
When she asks how its going I just smile and say fine, :)
in truth I feel like giving her a smack,[never would tho]
