Hi Guys, I know there are umpteen mentions on this topic, but..... , as far as i can tell, my bulbs are fine (even tried a new replacement from MB 2day), yet i still have no heater control lights working, nor in fact, is the bulb for the auto gear shift. Are these controlled by the same fuse, if so, which one?? Hope some1 has the answer as driving @ nite is murder, as not use to auto so need to turn on interior light to find reverse lol |

Thanks v. much for speedy response. Does that mean i need to remove clock cluster to replace this fuse or is it more accessable? As far as i can tell, just the 5 heater control bulbs are out aswell as the auto shift bulb. Is this all the 'red fuse' controls, or can i expect an array of lights to be brought back to life? Dave |

Yup, you have to remove the clocks, its not that hard to do but if you have small girly hands and wrists you wont get cut to ribbons removing the speedo cable. This thread should help. http://mercedes-190.co.uk/topic/215726/1/#new In one of my pictures you can clearly see the red fuse holder in the back of the clocks. Remember to cut the cable tie that hold the speedo cable down (near the fuse box) this will give you the extra few mm so you can get your hand inside and undo the speedo cable. There are lots of other connectors in there so remember where they all go and which way around they went, I got the multiplug all to cock one day and had some weird stuff going Edited by Rich27, Sat Mar 6, 2010 9:24 pm.

Thanx 4 the post Rich. Have not attempted to remove clocks yet, as I only want to remove the once, what size & type of fuse is this. Am a bit mythed as to why MB would put a fuse (which should in theory be accessable) in such a stupid place??? Seems there are fuses dotted about all over the place - surely would have made sense to house them all inside the 'fuse box'!! Today, I found a red 10 amp fuse stuck in the top of a relay tucked behind the rear of the battery - can anyone enlighten me what this relay n fuse controls? |

The one behind the battery is the overvoltage protection relay (commonly referred to as the OVP relay)

That's the OVP(Over Voltage Protection). It protects the ECU's from any power spikes that could damage them. |

Its a strange fuse. Looks just like one of the bulb holders but is red, like you say. It has been posted about before. It will be a dealer only item but will bve cheap as chips. |

Put, 190 owners (with a space between 0 & o) in the discount coupon box at checkout for our club discount But to be honest, it will be cheaper from the dealers as you will have to pay postage from the inschcape site posted by Richy Edited by stwat, Mon Mar 8, 2010 12:31 am.

ask them for a dicount, some dealers do it and some dont, i got a £138 seal for £124 inc postage using Parts Reunited http://www.partsreunited.co.uk/ it basically sends out a part request to a load of dealers and they let you know how much they can do it for. |
