A few thanks are in order for some forum members who went that extra mile today to make our first GTG of the year in the Southwest a good one.

First and foremost to Chris190 who came all the way down from Leeds. Skutter made the trip from the midlands; Taffy came down from Wales; Jeremy Enthusiast and Madmike made the trip from London; Cossie Con and Big Ben & Simon drove over from North Devon; bigalmerc came up from Plymouth. Old smmokey and paulossie also has a long trip as did Hugh. Many thanks to all for a great day out.

My friend James popped down from just up the A303 in his mum's 2009 C220 (wicked car). He was going to come in his Subaru (1992 legacy turbo estate) that he's restored but it has blown out a front driveshaft... That'll teach him to have the wrong side of 350hp on original driveshafts...

He took this pic of us all:

But I see it includes the same folk as the one above... Silly me...

Looks like a good day had by all, and a lovely spread of cars from the original examples to the sublime (Robert's Evo). A nice selection of sportlines too (I counted 3).

But oh, that Evo!

I know what you mean. It just exudes utter class B) It really puts all those horrible EVO3 lookalikes to shame.

You simply can't beat the real thing B)

I had been tempted to hide her away until all was perfect but I am so gobsmacked by 'the package' that it only seemed reasonable to wheel her out, crap and all, because in all my years of trundling about I have never come across a more competent car.

Nice to see all again, finger's crossed for Hockenheim.
I do like Robert's Evo2 .... surprised there are not more pics up!
I had a another 3 1/2 drive back (blame London traffic). A303 diversion was more fun returning than descending!

Two in mind at the moment.

One possible end june/july.

Then of course Thornfalcon Classic Car Show at the beginning of September. I will contact the organisers in the near future to confirm that the invitation to the club to attend this year still stands and see what numbers they can accomodate. If you have not seen the thread have a look through the old GTG postings. Magic cars by the hundreds.

Has been for years. I will try and find out. It was cancelled last year at the last moment due to rain. Field got very muddy.

Found this on the Morris Marina Owners Club site

Morning Jeremy.

Planning for this is already in hand and will form the basis of our late summer SW GTG as discussed both at last years Thornfalcon meet and the the most recent GTG at the Blackbush. Thread will be going up towards the end of June with all the details, camping arrangements etc.
