I'm wondering if anyone has used either a solar or just mains trickle charger as my foxguard alarm/ immobiliser eats the battery if left. I have no instructions for this alarm so have no way of knowing how to disarm it, and of course I can not just remove the battery without setting it off

When on road trips I use a solar charger to keep my wagon topped up. I use the 2.4w version but the one below is currently on offer :- http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=98358 You should work out how many watts your alarm is draining really. I dont really know how well it does at keeping it charged, never really monitored it. Actually, I did wire it up to charge someones mobile phone at one point and it worked quite well for that. |

That one isn't too bad, I have one to keep my Caravan battery charged through the winter And it manages it good over the winter even without sunlight, and before I had it the battery used to go flat over the winter. My C/van is kept in a barn over winter and i didn't have much hope for a solar charger, but it works Ok. |
