The cable pulley and plastic track clip for the rear passenger window need replacing on my 190. Local "foreign" car mech wants $420 to fix, apparently because the entire assembly and motor do not come seperately. F***.

Is it not possible to replace the clip and feed a new cable through the motor?

...or just buy a complete working motor from a donor car.
Electric Window motor assemblies should be no more than about $40 each from a scrapyard.
Fiddly, but not impossible to fit yourself.

$420 (USD?) is taking the p!ss, you could buy a whole door for that and have change.

That sounds more like it. I spose his quotes are for dealership parts, and yeah USD. Cheers - I'd best go find a scrap yard then.
