hey everyone, just a quick question about cleaning the bonnet insulation. essentially, the insulation was changed a couple of months before i had a little engine mishap (pre rebuild) pretty much changed the oil, asked my mate to put the cap back on, he didnt and my new bonnet insulations became an oil soak zone as soon as we fired the car up. since then its also started to come unstuck as i dont think they used proper adhesive to put it on pretty much, how can i clean the oil and crap off it, and should i try and remove it, clean it and put it back? or just spray some adhesive under the "sagging" bits, stick it back and try and clean it somehow while its attached? can anyone think of what could clean foam thats soaked up oil? cheers |

I doubt if anything would hold it now, so I'd think about a new one, using the MB glue as well. |
