Could be the OVP its self. The Joints dry up in they as they get old. |

I'm inclined to agree with Marv. OVP Relay would give you those symptoms. Check the fuse on top, if no change unplug the OVP and check the contacts and plug it in again, If still no change it could be a 'Dry Joint' inside. Check Kentrix' pinned at the top 'Fixing Dry Joints' I think it's called. |

Yes i totally agree. They are classic faulty OVP symptoms. |

Over Voltage Protection Relay, normally situated behind the battery, the relay with a fuse on top. |

the merc is a 190e 2.0l auto k reg i have pulled the fuse out and it is fine nothing wrong with it just going to remove everything that is in the way of getting the relay out battery etc tonight to have a look and see if it is connected correctly. i was also going to take the hubs off the front to see it the sensor faces are gummed up with brake and road muck i seem to remember my other merc having the same problem and when i was doing the wheel bearing i gave it all a clean up and it was fine after that. Maybe just coinsidence

You can remove the OVP with the batter in place, just remove the skuttle tray from under the window and you should be able to reach over the battery to it. You might hurt yur wrist abit but it saves time. |

here is the latest you need hands of a two year old and the strength of golliath to get that bloody ovp relay out lost skin also any how the connector for the relay is not broken and the joints look fine the relay not so sure about it so i think i will remove my wheel hubs and clean the abs sensor teeth and the pick up ring on both sides not looking forward to it though dont want knackered wheel bearings as my next mot failure . Im stumped if it is not is there any other way around this light problem
