we have a shop selling hid bulbs for 3.00. can these be straight swapped into a 190 or do they need anything special. seems really cheap to me. |

Proper HID bulbs can only be used with an upgraded HID system which uses ballasts etc to power the bulbs. These can not be used with the normal headlight system. I expect the bulbs you are talking about are normal H4 bulbs but filled with xennon gas rather than the normal halogen filled bulbs. These bulbs can be used but wont give out as much light as the HID systems. They will probably show a whiter or bluer light though. But are not proper HID headlights. |
