Today i went to pick up my new acquisition, a 300D from Kent coast.
The 60 miles journey back wasnt bad for a diesel.

A pure spur of the moment purchase under a monkey!

A few shots before the carwash

A W124 with the bombproof, trusty 3.0 non turbo, 12valve diesel fitted. No powerhouse, but very satisfying to drive and that engine has a delightful, surpressed diesel thrum. It's so distinctive a noise, that I can tell one is nearby without seeing it. ;) Sad but true.

Plus it's an engine fit for serious mileage. We're talking truck mileage here, i.e 600k and beyond. B) I have been in one with just that mileage.

you cant beat a 3litre diesel 124, mines done 400,000 , it has all sorts of extra 'things' bolted to its sides, and gets treated like this :-

And it never misses a beat :)

Pari - that sucks mate :(

Any ID of the thieving c*nts?

No number plates or what about any other CCTV near your unit?

They must have seen it there before?

Will

I scanned my CCTV but seeing as the camera moves every so often, i could only see the guys taking it away, they knew what they were after.
The neighbouring unit to me had the 2 rear wheels stolen of their transit van which they park outside, this happened last week.
Plus the unit opposite us had 3 sprinter Cat converters stolen 2 weeks before.

My 300d has sat outside for 5 months and not a soul has bothered it, not a popped window or a torched motor as has happened before to one of our old non runner vans left outside the unit.

I know the chances of finding it is very slim.

Bad luck Pari - people have so much front, they think they can just take anything that does not belong to them. What a terrible world we live in.

Only just read this thread Pari, sorry to hear about your W124.
Hope you get it back - I was thinking only the other day how few 'Stolen' threads we have on here compared to other forums I've seen.
Good luck fella :)

Thanks Neil and everyone for the thoughts.

I had a car stolen back in 2003 /2004 cant remember i was jacked at a busy petrol station,
I was dragged along the A12 holding the door handle in one hand and trying to punch the window
with the other but couldnt hold on much at at the high speed he drove off at .
Insurance didnt pay out because car went with the keys. BUT a year later around christmas got a
phone call from police saying they have detained the car after the driver jumped a red light.

Got the car back with a few thousand miles added and a tatty interior with changed number plates.

Thats what I call lucky, after a year to hear of your car being found.
Id be the luckiest man alive if this happened to me for a second time.

So sorry to hear this mate, thieving scum.

My mate has a car stolen off his drive a couple of weeks ago. Drove up with a truck, hooked it up and drove off. He was only working on it for a mate and next morning it was gone. His elderly mum watched it from the upstairs window, hadnt a clue that he wasnt down there organising it !!

The police told him its getting more common and probably already in a container in parts on its way abroad.
