Hi all, My motor has been running wonderful and fault free until today, Went to go to work today and as I undone the car via the boot lock the barrel lost all resistance to the key and therefore will not lock or unlock the car and ALSO the boot button does not spring out like it should. Does this mean a vacume problem or a lock or barrel problem??, Also how do I fix this??. Also is there any easy way into the boot please??. Many thanks in anticipation, Regards Andy |

Drill it out is my only suggestion I had to do this on my 2.0litre. Don't drill too far, just enough to get past the barrel then use a long screw driver as your new boot lock key

You can try and unbolt the the lock throught the first aid hole using a long extension bar on a socket set I haven't tried it but been sugested it before Maybe try a load of wd40 and hope first |

Is it posible to open the boot via the central locking pump under the rear seats? Suck or blow the appropriate pipe ![]() Or check under there for leaks/connections first |

If the button is stuck in I would try to get it out by pulling it with something. and as Alan says spraying 'WD40' or as I use 'Silicon oil spray' and try thumping it or around it. Then when you get it out then try unlocking with the key. But it does sound as if the barrel is bu99ered. |
