Longest build time in history?
Nice one dude!

Personal experience of the rust bucket that these cars can become tells me one thing, as long as you keep and eye on them and keep them clean they will go on forever, the moment you take your eye off the game (When i left for Uni, Dads E300TD Black Saloon went from being washed and properly cleaned once a week, to not once in 12 months!) is when it all, litterally starts to fall apart.

The engines are awesome though, and just fantastic tow cars.

And on the subject of Silver Estates, i'm joining the club too! An immaculate E39 535i Touring. And before anybody starts, nobody in their right mind can turn down a perfect, straight, leathered, 50,000m uber-estate, manual and everything, for a grand! No matter what the badge.

Plus, i can tow the Merc to tracks with it!

Only problem is i can't have it until the guys new car gets delivered, in five weeks. :(

Then once again i will be mobile, :)

Best of luck mate but yo may need to tow it now to get her going if there is air in the system or even crack each injector individually as you turn it over to let the air out.

Diesel fuel filters can be a nightmare sometimes

had to admit the battery is dead in the car today ^o)
charging it every morning before going to work was getting a bit silly :$

first search on halfords made my eyes water and thought i was in for a bumpy ride £116 :crying:
but good old gfs came in at £75 for a bosch B) and i have been out and about in it today and every time i got out i could finally use the keep the car warm heater button :driver:

also sorted the steering rack out with a new tie rod thingy bit so its off for tracking and another new tyre in the morning
then changing a rear arm over the weekend :help:
