if its a front bumper im sure someone will have one in good nick kicking around? or if yours is flaking odds are you can remove it from the actual bumper and pressure wash the paint off it. Just a thought :)

Thanks guys ! It has been sprayed,i think ,with "Plasticote" or simaler ,and it is a pig to remove .Patches have come off, as though something has been under the paint .my mate is bringing some "Nitromorse" down to me to-night ,so will give that a try .The annoying thing is ,i dont know why it was painted in the first place ,as it looks great where the paint has come off !! Looks like i,m going to be a "scrubber" in the morning ! As for spraying over it Marv, it would be a hard work to flat it down level to the other paint and it may react ,so that idea is a "no-no"

I may be wrong but i dont think there painted when they come out of the factory there just black plastic but over time they will fade.

Yes I know they are plastic, im talking about the fact that the grill had a paint code so perhaps there was a specific paint code for the bumpers. However looking through the marketing material it appears that the bumpers are just black. Flat/satin black.
ALZ MERC what colour are your repainting with? Gloss or satin black?

I bought a new grill insert a few weeks back ,standard grey (not painted) .Was not going to paint the plastic bumper insert, if i could get the paint off which a previous owner had put on,i would leave it as the original .(none painted ) and given it a coat of "Back to black" or simaler .. But ,had no luck with it, not 100% happy ,so will buy a new one in the morning and put the whole lot back together ^o) .....Oh well, i tried !!
