Hi learned members,
i actually posted this in the wrong section first, whoops.Anyway, can someone advise me whether replacing the throttle body is a complicated job,or can a novice like me do it?Will i need special tools? Is there any possibility of doing serious damage to the engine?A garage was supposed to do it for me yesterday but i was let down. Now i`m thinking about having a go myself.Rick1 advised me to do it myself, but i`m a bit unsure.Hs anyone done one these recently?

Hi Cosser,
it`s just the mix control unit that i need to replace. Thanks very much your post is a big help,i think i should be able to manage it now.Is there a gasket between the unit and where it sits?
My car is a 1.8 the replacement throttlebody is from a 2 litre, will the settings be the same or close enough? i will get the whole thing set up properly anyway.

Cheers,
Sax.

Hi sax,
I don't think there's a gasket..?? as for the settings being the same I don't know..I think that's going to be a trial and error job..lol..!! I've had my mix unit off and it's not a huge job..just make sure everything goes together airtight..no leaks..!!

Call the dealer with your chassis number and ask if there's a gasket. It'll be pennies if there is. While you're at it ask them if there are any common bits (rubber pipes, etc) that should be replaced / might break at the same time

This should answer your question regarding gasket.
