URO brand, anyone heard of them? Had to return a fan/coolant temp switch as it had a very poor quality machined thread, looked like it would strip my head... |

As supplied by GSF/euro car parts..think they're chinese. It appears not to have been machined well near the top- it will work OK if you use a a very thick washer...gauge reads lower too. maybe I'm just anal, but you can see/feel the quality difference of a genuine part... |

Hi, my name is Daniel Seeman from URO Parts. The quality of our products is of utmost importance to us so when I saw this post I wanted to see what was going on with the products mentioned. In regards to the fan switch, you are absolutely correct, the threads on the original switch go down slightly more than ours. However, if you screw a nut onto the threads the space left over is 0.9mm, which isn't too much room for the 1.5mm washer. I don't see the machining differences you mentioned and they both should activate around 100C, but it's not uncommon for there to be some slight deviation. In regards to the engine mounts mentioned, please check if they were in fact URO engine mounts because I have a feeling they were not. We haven't had a single warranty in 3 years with several hundred sold and haven't sold any directly to our distributors in the UK. I'd be more than happy to look into any other concerns for you guys. If there's an issue with one of our products we want to know about it and investigate it. Best, Daniel Seeman |

Now you can't get fairer than that - Thank you for taking the time to register and giving the members a chance to communicate their views in a (hopefully) professional and polite manner. I havent come across URO parts knowingly but may have fitted them without incident. |

I'm glad I could contribute. If there's any questions, concerns, or feedback regarding our parts I would love to hear them. We make a lot of items for Mercedes and other European makes that we export to the UK. |
