been looking about for a short shift mod for my 1.8 manual and iv found what seems to be a good one on 190rev
http://190rev.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35788

anyone done this mod? my gearbox i think is fairly worn as gearing down into 2nd can sometimes be a pain, would this mod exaggerate the problems?
cheers

Karl,

if your gearbox is worn out, the synchros gone - this mod will not help you.
The shorter the arm, the more force you'll need to move the same weight.

Maybe you'd better repair your gear box before you start anything else?

regards,
Christian

yehh true. its not too bad really. but im worried it will make it impossible to shift at all! i dont think its even worth looking for another used box coz it will probabaly be worse. how much are we looking at for a recon?
