Buzzing idle valve on ignition; Could be causing my starting problem?

As you may have seen from my various frustrated posts in the 190 room, I recently fitted a replacement afm on my car, and despite setting the mixture about right when I turn the key it simply starts up for a split second then conks out. Been through a long list of possible faults with Andy with no success, but one thing it is doing that I so far haven't been able to sort is a weird buzzing coming from the idle valve when the key is turned all the way without starting. It buzzes for about 3 seconds each time, with each instance separated by about a second.

I was told this could possibly be causing the problem, and a connector on the wrong was could be causing it. However, all the connectors are on absolutely fine, so not sure how I can solve that. Has anyone had this issue before? What sort of issues did it cause and how was it sorted?

Got the wrong end of the stick from Andy, he meant if it was buzzing constantly, the line wasn't brillaint so I thought he's said that it shouldn't be buzzing at all. Sorry chaps! Thanks for your replies anyway.
