Guys as some of you maybe aware I replaced my injectors, injector housings, O rings and insulator seals.

After around trip of 400 miles the fuel economy has increased by nearly 3mpg, tank brimmed and brimmed again, same trip I do on a regular basis and same time of day. The throttle reponse has improved & I'd say power has improved especially above 3000rpm. Also flat spot at 2200rpm has gone.

Well worth doing considering since the old injectors only had 70k miles on them.

If no improvement in Eco. and performance then your old ones were Ok

and probably just needed cleaning,

But if they are worn and not functioning correctly

you would notice a difference ;)

I'm only really here for the Kitchens

I did mine a while back and it definitely sounded smoother and had slight power increase up in the top of the range. Obviously it all depends how worn they are in the first place :)

I try not to pay any attention to the mpg I get from it lmao

I didnt do the O rings, literally just the injectors.

With a three liter I would think you are blind to MPG Kenny ;)

But if you've got IT then you can spend It lmao

But then saving on a few 'O' rings

Stuu, the injectors on their own may not have been the only reason for the engines improved running as I found all the injector seals well past their sell by date and they may have even been the originals as I've no invoice/record of the seals being purchased when the previous owner got the injectors replaced, only an invoice for injectors. So maybe my 70,000 mile injectors (I believe M-B recommend their replaced @ 60k miles) were not too bad but the most important thing is the engine is running better with better mpg (30 now instead of 27) and won't be attending to this job again for a few years.

I noticed a big difference when i changed them in the 2.6. Virtually the same improvements as you Jhonboy especially the flat spot.

The 2.3-16 did feel better and did improve mpg slightly. But the original injectors didn't look that old so the improvement wasn't as pronounced.

There was a batch of cheap ones which came up on E bay a while ago. I think a few members got some at a reduced price. I was going to but left it a little late...........

Changed mine on both the 2.5-16 and the 2.6 and replaced all the rubbers both times. Have to say did'mt notice any difference on the 2.6 and maybe a slight performance difference to the 2.5-16.

What is your mileage? If it's over 55,000 I would change them.

Hi there, found a source for injectors. The question I have is where does one obtain (a) The 'O' rings, (b) the seals and (c) the housings? Thanks, Chris

Chris , if you've not changed your injectors , then it is very worthwhile . it makes a noticeable diffrerence. About £20 ea , and about an hour to do all 6 .

You can get them all from the main dealer, not expensive. M-B housings come with the 'o' rings fitted.
