Hmmm..... Shall we call this 'creative engineering?

Can you give some details on the sizing of those toys?

While I like superchargers I don't like roots and screw type ones as they have a lot of parasitic losses.
As an idea is very tempting but practicality and tunability will be an issue I believe.
Also budget... what crank, pistons connecting rod etc for the engine. relocating parts and adaptor plates for the supercharger.
I think it will be better to stay on turbo only or supercharger only (I prefer turbo though)
Then we come to clutch and drivetrain......

If you still want to play with 2 stage charging think about sequential turbo

Rotrex is always better for supercharging as it has higher mechanical efficiency in its step up 'geartrain' compared to other supercharging systems.

I've been looking at getting a pair, one for the 250TD and one for the Minuki.

What is the source of that kit, Nick? The supercharger looks like the Amherst Villiers design as fitted to the blower Bentleys. Compression issues? Fat gasket, perhaps? Keep us posted...

Why are you kidding?

You should fit both with stock compression. then rev the engine while you are taking a video. Then show us here how cool is to have your con rods and other engine bits on the ground.
We can call this knowledge share and you can also start a poll so members can bet on how long your engine will last.

At the end we will have the most constructive engine destruction thread.

hahahahahahaha....

Ah, I see. Well, you should have some fun with that; do I take it that the 230K is the same block as our M102s? I've always assumed so, so the architecture should be relatively straightforward, providing there is room under the bonnet. Good luck...

Nice one nick !!!

Do keep us up to date with where your locating everything, I have a similar bunch of kit I am trying to squeeze into my 3.0 engine bay. Very little room !!!

Are you using the merc bypass airbox or a dump valve of some sort for idle ?

If Neil is correct we should head down the pub together after the bangs lmao

My intake is made by turbo technics although I am not sure if it was off a w201.

You can see it here :-

Taint had the rest of the kit which included an extra bit with a couple of extra injectors and an extra ECU to control them. Cant remember which engine it was originally bolted to though.

ive been measuring things up and dont look like its gana fit at least without some major cutting and reworking of components ect.....and i mean major cutting and removal of pretty much everything on the passinger side of the engine bay, might have to find a rotex, will be a hell of a lot easier to install. grr annoying

Hi

Keep an eye out for these as well: Vortech and Paxton, similar shape and mountings but will require its own belt running from the crankshaft pulley.

check the American Market for these.

ps - for 1st trials you could try and set up a " G ladder " supercharger from a VW corrado g60..probably cheaper!

problem with mounting it on the other side is getting a good air flow rate from that side to the intake, would be hard not to make a mess of it and dont want to end up with an engine bay that looks like a tip and a supercharger thats not being used efficiently.

thanks mazza il keep an eye out for them, plan on mounting it where the power steering pump and air conditioning unit goes.
