bike carbs all the way man. i did mine in the middle of winter, in about 2 foot of snow in a weekend. drove it to my mates on friday night, did the clutch master cylinder then took all the injection crap off bolted the manifold on and slid the carbs on hooked the fuel pump up and i was done and home by 6 on sunday night and he lives an hour away.
iv not had any problems with them at all. they are so simple they just work and if anything does go wrong its very very cheap and easy to fix. i had a sticking float valve in one of the carbs, so i got some new carbs courtesy of egay for £30 posted swapped the valve and it was back running perfect again.

i have put a very slightly wilder cam in and im getting 110bhp at the wheels (130-140 ish at the flywheel compared to 109 from the factory) and im getting 30mpg compared to 25 which i got with inj.
WIN WIN if you ask me!!

Sparky, I reckon it all depends on how much you want to spend and which model your considering the modification to. Personally I'd only opt for EFI including ignition control too but expect to be blowing some between £1500-£2500 which is a fair sum even on a 16V. Horses for courses me thinks.

FYI - making an inlet manifold for a 16v engine is a huge amount of fab work due to the inlet port design. bike carbs on any petrol 4 cylinder 190/e engine would be a piece of cake - as Karlos says.....

its for an 8v 2.0 same as karlos'. Is it just a case of ripping all the old stuff out and bolting em on? will they work straight away?

as a bare minimum you'll need to increase the size of the main jets - aside from that the manifold is the hardest part. once you have them attached with the fuel connected, you're nearly there!

i would Consider Swapping to an EFI from a TOYOTA 4AGE 20 valve Black top Engine.

4 throttles for your Musical ear.

other than that.Bike carbs sound the thing to do.

i would like to hear the sound of your Engine Karlos!!
