Easily done from underneath mate.
But would be even easier if on a ramp rather then doing it on the ground

As long as the car is high enough to slide the gearbox out you'll be reet. Making a cradle for your jack makes life easier.

is it possible to use an engine hoist to lift up the front of the car easily? or.. that a bad idea (obviously putting solid stuff down before crawling under .. lol

Not advised!

Driving the front wheels up some ramps should be plenty then lift the back up on the diff to get the axle stands underneath.

With a piece of wood between the two if the jack doesnt have a rubber pad.
