B) Hi , got stuck in traffic today which is very rare for me, noticed my temp getting very high & fan did not cut in mine is a1993 1.8 do you think it may just be the sensor on top near the thermostat 2 wires attached ?Or could it be more serious & is the sensor an easy fix?

How high & how go you know the fan did'nt operate? Did the engine actually boil?

Yes pulled into mates driveway & let engine run, fan did not cut in & coolant out from overflow pipe gauge on red line so i am pretty sure.

Check your number 10 fuse it could be that with a bad contact or even blown ;)

Could probably be the switch, mine is nackred too so I have 2 wires in the cabin now which I twist together.

B) Thanks will check the fuse in the morning, checked price of switch about £15.00 so will go with that if fuse is ok ,guy in parts dept reckons 9 times out of 10 it is the switch.
