Hi guys, dont know if anyone else has encountered this but my 2.5 16 is running really badly, it wont idle and wont rev properly, and under load it revs really lumpy then all of a sudden it will absolutely fly. if anyone experienced similar or has any idea what it is it would be greatly appreciated. it was running fine last week!!!
cheers,
James

I'd check the OVP and also check for any vacum leaks (which will be a dam site harder) . Is the fuel mixture all set up right and is the EZL knob set to "S" ?

Have you ran out of petrol recently..?? maybe a sensor has developed a fault..coolant temp sensor to ECU wiring fault..??

If it was Fine LAST WEEK then it could be a result of something that has happened since..have you filled up with crap fuel..Fuel filter change needed....??

Sorry mate ..the list is endless ..I'll check the Wis Files..!!

Exhaust blockage is another possibility..??

Cosser..!!

Cheers for the reply's, it was the OVP fuse! runs sweet now. Is there anything that causes the fuses to blow or is it something that just happens?

As our 16V's are over 20 years old , there are a lot of gremlins in some of them .

Have you had a 'Jump Start' or given one recently as that is the favorite cause. ;)

When you jump start 190Es, its always a good idea to put the heater on full and the lights on so its not such a huge surge of power.

Have a look at Kenny's pinned post at the top of the electrics section.

'How to Fix a Dry Joint'

Could save you £60. ;)
