Hi Today i purchased my first ever Mercedes. I have been waiting for along time for a 190 d to come along at the right price, and it's happened I'm grinning ear to ear driving her home today. The vendor did warn me about the clutch before i bought it stating that it judders a bit before it warms up. The clutch to me seemed fine although as you accelerate you do feel some juddering but more like fuel starvation, this is only at low revs between gears. Although i have only had the car one day i have noticed if i ride the clutch a little giving more revs this seems to help. I Would be very grateful for any advice as i am not very mechanically minded but i love this car already. Many thanks |

Congratulations on your purchase, hope you enjoy many happy miles of motoring. My 190D 2.0 was a bit jerky as well when accelerating through the gears and it still is to some extent but I found that the inline filter was completely choked and after I changed it it is now 75% better. I put the rest down to possibly soft engine mountings or something and me not being used to driving it. Why not change the filters and see how it goes. It is not hard to do and you might as well learn how to do it now anyway. If you are not sure how to go about it just ask, and either I or someone else will be glad to guide you. The advice will not be free though as you will have to post some pictures of your car in return
