Hey guys, had my mechanic replace water pump and fuel pump over the weekend. Asked him to look over the whole car for any things needed to be done, sure enough he reported back that my driveshaft bearing is on its last legs and the car is unsafe to drive. Does this mean the whole shaft needs replacing or just the bearing itself??? Thanks! |

Hello. If he means the bearing in the centre of the shaft, then you can replace just the bearing and its rubber support, you will need to remove the rear half of the driveshaft and to mark it's orientation to the front half to avoid vibration when the drive shaft is reinstalled ,blob of paint on both halves will do.
