I was just woundering IF you could change the auto box in a 2.6 standerd 190 to a manual box just by taking it out and changing it? To make a fast manual 190. Without splashing out on a cossy.?

Cheers
Ryan.

Ryan ,

I had my 2.6 auto changed to a 3.6 manual , so yes it is possible .

But you could also get your 2.6 made faster by raising the comp ratio , using the KE Jet from a 3.0 , getting the head re-worked works wonders too , or even swapping a 3.0 into it ?

Sean who is Old Smmokey has had his reworked , I think ?

I am told by Taint that it is possible to straight-swap the KE from a 3.0 .

Hhmm. I was wanting to build a 2.6 manual sceamer! I know of a 2.6 up here and a 2.0 witch are just standing so could get to make one good one. Pick the good body, leather seats and all that jazz, plus it being quick! Would need to be a full engine rebuild + tuned. So are 2.6 parts easy to get hold of like gaskets, shells, valve seals, piston rings etc. Anybody know?

Cheers Ryan.
