Hi, I just bought a nice white 190 E with only 62k on the clock! It's my first time owning a Mercedes, and I'm very happy with it so far. The only thing is that it has an alarm that goes off when I drive faster than 100Km/h (60mph), has anyone else had this? And does anybody have any idea how to disable it? Thanks! Hallo & Welcome. Never heard of this on a 190. You could set the computer on my BMW 325i to sound an audible alrm at any given speed |

I am currently staying in Australia and bought the car here, the car was imported from Japan a few years back, maybe it's got the alarm because of some Japanese law or something. I will check tomorrow if I can disable it by removing one of the fuses.

I would say you are on the right track as a lot of Japanese spec cars are limited to 180kph/112mph. |
