I bought a Vito the other week, a pre-2003 model, so its got a bit of rot here and there.

Here's how she looked when I got her home:

Posted Image

I threw a bucket of water over her this week, I had a bit of extra time on my hands

I pressure washed/dried with chamois

Then hit it with Farecla G3, the paint was pink, pure oxidised, especially the roof

Then I hit it with AG Super Resin Polish, then I waxed by hand with Collinite 476, the beading is beautiful

Today I sprayed the faded bumpers Satin Black

Here is the most recent pic:

Now I can concentrate on giving the 190 a full detail

Nice job, fella!
Is it 568 Signal Red?
And can I ask what you (roughly) paid for it?

Cheers!

I'm not too sure of the exact paint code, it does look like Signal Red. I haven't got the V5 through yet. Is there any way of checking online with the vehicles details?

I swapped my Audi A4 estate for it plus 'a monkey'. The A4 needed CV joints replacing both sides, the ABS had gone as well, along with bad lacquer peel right across the bonnet.

I think the van was worth around a grand when I picked her up. I have put new front brake discs and pads on, fully valeted and I'm going to service and tax it next week. I reckon its worth anything from 1200 to 1500 now

Colour code should be on the slam-panel plaque.
On 190s it's the code that's kind of floating in free space in the middle...

I received the V5 today, do all new V5 documents come in red with THIS IS NOT PROOF OF OWNERSHIP written right across it?

I'm the registered keeper but the log book seems a bit mad

Anyway, here is the VIN: VSA63806423188900

The log book just says Colour: Red

Yes they do.

It's always been the case that being the registered keeper is not proof of ownership but they seem to really want to shove it in our faces with the new V5's!!

No doubt they have something bigger in the pipeline which will cost us either in fines or taxation of some kind "before"

The point of this relates to the possibility of outstanding finance and therefore it may not be in the ownership of the person who is selling it. Its really to

protect the dumb who buy without checking a vehicles history.
