hello all
just sticking my head up and waving :)
i may have the opportunity to buy a 50K miler (2 litre auto, around 1985) for a few hundred quid... for that price sounds like it will replace my slightly tired volvo 740.
no nowt about these cars really, so just testing the water. it'll be an everyday car.

Once you've found a good one the only regret you'll have is if you ever have to sell it. Everyone 0n here loves their car's..... this will be my 10th year of owning my 2.6 and have loved every second of it... even had notes left on the sceen asking if it's for sale........ straight in the bin!!! :D

Hi inlinesix

funny that... I saay the same about (quietly whispers) RWD volvos, but this would replace one of them.
Reason I mention it is because of your avatar... I'll keep my "inlinesix" V90 ;-)

My uncle will be looking at this car for me as its in Cornwall, and I'm erm... not!

I just love overengineered large, thirsty RWD cars :-) If all goes well, this'll be my first Merc, and I hope its as trouble free as they come, and easy to work on if (when) parts do wear out.

I had 2 europeans in a VW corroda VR6 the other day coming out of a junction on a set of traffic lights ,
i flashed for them to go in front of me but they duly declined so i went and they tailed me till the next light
where the came up on my side and told me to wind my window " helllo bosss very nice car is it for sale "

I seem to get a lot of these guys from eastern europe asking me do i want to sell the car , they all seem to like these old school mercs
