Recently inherited a 190e 1988 model- 30,000 on the clock since leaving the factory.

It's running ok but I have a few problems to fix including both front electric windows not working and a heater blower fan noise problem.

Thinking of putting on some alloys when the original p6 tyres are worn out- what sizes can go on and are there sets available on the forum?

Also looking for parts suppliers if I can't get the windows going.

BTW the site is great and I'm excited about getting the old bird fully functional.

Any suggestions/advice greatly appreciated. :driver:

Welcome to the forum.

Both the problems you mention have easy fixes. Use the search engine.

Tell us a bit more about the car.

Pictures would help.

From past experience of buying a car of a similar age with just 13000 on the clock on its original tyres id advise throwing the tyres away now and replacing them :o

after 22 years even if they look ok with a decent tread depth the likelyhood of the sidewalls being full of hairline cracks you cannot see is highly likely better safe than sorry

They could burst at any time :crying:

I think tyre manufacturers only recomend keeping the same tryes for a max of 10 years thesedays?

Jodie :)

P.S. lets see some pics of the car ;)
