I have never used or heard of them personally but normally custom places include fitting in their prices. They build it directly on to the car, rather than build and then fit. Well, from my experience anyway. |

Have a look at http://www.vortex-performance-exhausts.co.uk/. I have mentioned them before on here, and I have been very happy with them.Improved fuel economy,I get 50-60 miles more pr tank, and improved torque, and lifetime guarantee. |

It's the centre section that's gone, been quoted £172 for a standard replacement. Price due to the fact that my car has a twin entry centre box that then goes into a single outlet. A single entry version is £40, big difference! Anyone know if they can be interchanged? What's the difference between them? |

No they cannot be interchanged without changing the CAT and downpipes, or without modifying the CAT outlet. Better to try on e-bay for a middle box. Edited by alogaparaloga, Fri Jan 7, 2011 6:12 pm.

Does you car have a cat? Some places offer what's called a "sports cat" which (i believe) is one that is removable and allows for the original one put back on there for MOT purposes. To get it off though could be a pain, the car would have to go up on jacks/ramps in order to access it. If it is something that is quite easy for you then it shouldn't be a problem. Ask them if it is something that they can do and they will be able to advise you accordingly. Some people on here have used Powerflow to make up their centre sections, might not be a bad idea to contact your local Powerflow dealer and then compare prices.

Bit the bullet and decided to have one fitted. Great service, really friendly and excellent quality exhaust. We had a chat about the options and i decided to have the cat removed as it would be just my luck that it would go next. He never said anything about needing the cat for the MOT when I asked, just that the only requirement is for it to pass on emissions and as the Lamda sensor is still in place before the cat it will adjust the AFM automatically (car is a pre Aug 92 model so doesn't need to pas the cat test). So it now has a 3 box SS exhaust from the downpipe back for £250, which I thought was a very good price, given other quotes I've had in excess of £450 from the cat back. The car also pulled better on the way home, probably due to the marginal power increase. The garage is located in Brierley Hill, Birmingham, called LTC Tyres & Exhausts. That is a good price, I paid that for from the Kat back but it was a 'Power-Flow' And I am aiming to get the Kat removed and SS up to the manifold, not having much luck searching for a SS manifold though and I wanted to do it all together. By the way I hope you left the Lamda Sensor on and connected, If not then your engine will go into Emergency Mode and that will be expensive for your consumption.

The price you have is really good price. I bought 2 magnaflow silencers and a metallic core CAT plus pipes to build my own system and the parts only cost me £270. this price is for a 2.25" system. A 2" inch system would be around £200 to £230 for parts only as their prices are much lower than 2.25" or 2.5" inches. As for the manifold, I asked to have one made from some places in W. Yorkshire and the prices were out of my budget. So I decided to make the entire system myself. For the manifold I decided to buy used manifolds from C180 Kompressor and make my own design using the bends available. Very cheap solution as I got the manifolds for £20 each delivered but I already have a welder. |

From what I've read on this forum the lamda sensor is before the cat, so isn't touched when the cat is removed, is this correct? |

Or as in my case at the rear on top of the manifold, before the joints to the down pipes. That's why I'm having trouble finding a SS 'fan manifold' Plus mine is LHD |
