Hi all. 2L 190E 1990. I bought it 6 months ago and has always had this buzzing noise coming from the back. It seems to increase intensity with speed. At first i thought it might be the tyres. However a friend sat in it yesterday and thought it is the bearings. The MOT given to me from the previous owner had no advise notice for the bearings (it did for the manifold and boy did that cost alot to fix). I lifted the car to see if the wheel is playing, but there was nothing obvious to me. Have you lot got any ideas? cheers |

your best bet is to get a second hand diff, some guys on the forum are breaking cars, I personally would leave it to see if it gets any worse, There might be a oil additive that could quieten it down It wouldn't be to expensive, if you put it into a mecedes garage it will cost a lot |

i have this problem. its my diff. starting to really bug me now too! trouble with getting a replacement is you have no guarantee's that it wont start to whine. although its a hell of a lot cheaper than a reconditioned part. |
