Hi, my names dan plan on buying a 85 cosworth tomorrow i,ve seen this forum whilst looking for 190 parts i,m looking to do up the car so i thought this would be a good place to get parts advice etc from i,m looking for bilstein shocks eibach springs alloy wheels and possibly evo spoiler kit also some advice on weather to paint the car or to use that carbon rap stuf,f i plan on painting it matt black sorry if this offendes any purrest out there i just think a 190 evo kitted painted matt black would look awesome done a few cars up in the past 10 years ago (Spent way to much) back home in nz first was a mk1 capri next two were xu1 toranas (ozzie car not fimilair to you guys) i guess once the car bug buites it really sinks it teath in look foward to all your advice and words of wisdom thank you in advance and ill do my best to recipterate |

Hello and welcome your highness. EVO kits demand lots of chopping to arches etc. The after-market kits can be very dodgy/poor quality and often look horrendous if not fitted well. Not that I'm saying you're crap at bodywork or anything Personally, I'm a standard man myself but I applaud and respect anyone who has the dedication to build a car from their imagination Stu |

interested in seeing what comes of this ![]() if you plan on painting it matt black it would be cheaper to rattle can it. Although if you want a decent finish your best bet is probably to use a satin black wrap. i would probably make my decision based on the sate of the body work, if its nice and you want to protect it for potential new buyers, a wrap would be ideal, if its covered in rust id treat that then break out the primer

Hi, guys thanks for your replies i hear what your saying about aftermarket kits stwat there is an evo spoiler kit for sale in these forums i,m trying to buy that the guy said it was original so hope i can get that, its missing a side skirt though but i reackon i can make a mould out of wood being a chippie and then fibreglass it ive uploaded a picture of the car that gave me the insperation it,s the night edition sl500 just in case i stuffed up the uploading the only reason i thought of wraping it was because i thought it would be cheaper if it,s not ill just spray it myself also does any one know what the maximum width of tyre is plan to lower 2" and have 245 40 17 tyres with the evo 2 arches i.ll start a new thread as soon as i get the car i,m planing to finsh the car pretty soon as ive got some time off work so you should see it come togeather pretty rapid mind you i thought that about my last car and that took me 2 years and 25,000 thanks again guys your advice is greatley appericated oh yea i won,t need the cosworth spoilers etc so when i get the car i,ll post photo,s if you wan,t anything let me know, free if you can pick up from romford essex area or small fee to post cheers dan light a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day, set a man on fire and you keep him warm for the rest of his life stole this one from somwere on the net |
