Hello Gurus,
I've just fiished fitting a new Rad and Thermo. The car is running good and the temp is now sitting where it should..I've noticed that my bottom hose is cold after i've been for a run.Is this normal or do i have an air lock??

I looked in the Wis to get some hints on bleeding the system but it shows a bleed screw on one of the pipes which i don't have on my beast..lol..!!

Is there a simple workaround for bleeding the circuit without the bleed screw..?? I seem to remember reading something on the site about jacking the front up to do it but I can't find it anywhere..??

Cosser..!!

Well your either all bunged up or you have an air lock As Nathan has said run the engine up to operating temp with the expansion tank cap off making sure the level remains constant. Also turn you blower heater conttrol to hot to ensure full system circulation. Once the engine is at operating temp you should have nice warm heaters a consistent temp between top and bottom hose and the cooling fan should kick in around 90 degrees. If the bottom hose is still cold I would suspect the thermostat. Unless the rad you have is blocked however if its a new rad I would doubt that very much.

When the engine is at operating temp niether hose will be cold the bottom hose may be slightly cooler but not by much if the system is operating correctly

Having taken onboard what your saying i went and left my car running for thirty minutes until at full running temp. The top hose was to hot to grasp and the top of the rad was quite hot .The engine has had a new waterpump /stat and the bottom hose has little if any temp therefore indicating that the viscous fan and rad are both doing the job that they are designed for .I also do not have any running temp or heater issues whatsoever .Therefore if your bottom hose is hot as you say then i would suggest you have a look at the effectiveness of your rad and fan.
