There's a few differences between the two I don't know all the bits you'll need but you'll need the diff and brakes if you want to do it properly plus a bigger rad and antiroll bar I think?

I'm sure someone else will confirm I think Shrekky is clued up on the differences.

Aah yes now.

I always assumed the 2.5 had different brakes too. But I can confirm from personal experience that mine are the same as on a 2.0 190E. Solid discs and the same calipers. Now wether this is just my K plate 190D I couldn't say.
The springs however, are definitely different. The diff might be different but the driveshafts and rear hubs are the same.
The most noticable difference on popping the bonnet (exept the extra pot :D ) is the radiator, Its HUGE on the 2.5D Taking up all available space, even bigger (I Think) then the 2.0D. The fan cowl is very thin as it doesn't need to take up any gap. Clearance is about 3cm between the rad and fan.

Here's a pic of mine:

Sorry if its not too clear. Thats as much as i know (or think I do  )

I'm only really here for the Kitchens

just to confirm, diffs are different. Plus you will need the glowplug controller from the 2.5.

I thought the brakes were different too but possibly not. Shrekky is indeed the man for this thread, I am sure he will be along in a bit.

The 2.5 shares a lot of gubbins with the 2.6 petrol, suspension etc.

how about dropping a 3.0 om603 or is that impossible because that would mean 2 extra pots to deal with plus weight , and glow plug controller and so on.

If I was going to the trouble of changing the engine, I would definitely go for the 3ltr. Or better still the turbo charged 3ltr. Apparently you can get these in t he Musso Sangyong.
