Hi all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself and my new Mercedes.

I picked it up yesterday, it's a 190E, 2.0 in dark grey (199) auto, with leather, air con and cruise, which I'm pleased with as I've come from a W140 with all the toys

It will take a bit of getting used to, being a lot smaller, but it should be a lot better fuel wise and easier to take my son down to the shops (finding spaces for the 140 was always a task)

Jobs wise I intend to clean the interior as it's pretty dirty, it needs a major service, the in car entertainment consists of a radio tape player that doesn't hold it's tune and speakers that drift in and out

I'll get there eventually (if my 8 month old Son allows) and I'll post pics on my progress :)

Welcome to this happy band of brothers (and sisters). From a 140 to a 201 is, I think, a sensible move.

Welcome :)

Car sounds very nice - lucky to get one with that much equipment - not that many 190Es out there with leather, cruise and aircon B)

And in the best colour, too :D

Hi Adam, welcome to the club, the w140 is a gorgeous car but the w201 makes for good financial sense in this climate, sounds like you have a good one with air con & leather, the cleaning of these little ladies is all part of the fun, enjoy :D

Welcome. It sounds like you're going to be busy...

Why not take a moment to add your location into your signature? You never know, you might be just 'up the road' from another member, and never know it!

If you're in the Midlands, why not join us at the GTG in May?

Take look in the GTG section for details, and we'd like to see your 190e!

Cheers.... ;)

Thanks for such a warm welcome, really nice to be here; my signature has now been edited :)

I Haven't yet managed to take any pics, I only picked it up yesterday and today I've been servicing it.....Last time anything was done, was around two years ago, it's in a bit of a state to be honest, how anyone can neglect a Mercedes Benz is beyond me, the coolant was basically rusty water (changed), oil was black (changed + filter), although the spark plugs (also changed) indicate a good engine ^o) It's looking a hell of a lot better, under the bonnet at least; jobs still to do are auto box oil change and filter, new tensioner (need to open a new thread on this I think) and belt, rear diff oil and check why the idle is lumpy, not much then :D

It's certainly a lot different to my old Mercedes, it's a lot sportier, more economical, I love the single wiper too and the heated seats are a welcome reminder of my S Class, need to try and find a comfortable driving position though, how do my fellow tall forum members get on with their 190's?

Thanks for the invite to the GTG, we'll have to see what we're doing in May ;)
