Here's a couple of pics I took today of my new 1992 250D . Not very well polished and I havn't cleaned the interior yet :$

So this veg mobile cost me £750. I have put the alloys on and taken that distgusting reflector thingy off the boot lid, decided to get the ancient camera out :)

Thanks mate :)

The 250D is a five pot. The same OM602 as powers the 190D 2.5. Fantastic engine!
After 1993, the w124 250D got the OM605 (also a 5 pot). Thats the same multivalve thats to be found in a w202 C250D. But this old girl has the reliable old 5 pot OM602 chugger.

The 6 pot diesels in the w124 are the OM603, thats a 300D (later OM606 multivalve as the E300D). These were never offered in the w201.

The OM601 is the 4 pot in the w190D 2.0 (and also the slowest merc ever 200D w124), the OM602 is my five pot (and a 190D 2.5) and the OM603 is the 6 pot from the 300D w124. All three of these are very, very similar with just an extra pot added as you go up the range.

The 250D w124 is a rare beast as far as i can tell. Plenty of 300D's in the UK and the later E250D, but I have seen very few OM602 powered w124's!

......Sorry Stu, I'm propper going on ....

Yes its a five cylinder.

:D

, he killed himself before his invention was realised.

Did he though?

A warning.. Don't invent a perfect means of propulsion that bypasses the need for fossil fuels. You will end up face down in the channel...and your invention will re-emerge, now running on petro chemicals.

Not until you have built up plenty of spare fuel for yourself first. Just a thought, would it not be better to just ride a monkey around instead ? Or use a monkey powered moped ? The extraction process has to be quite energy inefficient I would have thought ?
