I think the R107 has to be one of the best looking cars Mercedes-Benz has made in recent history.
And they just look so right in signal red.

And you have minted that one up so well it looks brand new !! Fantastic B) B)

Hi Derin,

Wow! That is absolutely gorgeous. Looks like new!

On a 'G' plate so must be one of the last produced.

I'd definately like a 107 myself one day. I don't really like driving in converatbles but I just love the look of the 107, especially the late ones with the larger chin spoiler. They still look right parked outside a country manor. How many 21 year old cars can you say that about?

Is it your own car?

Gary

Doc Derin, Im loving the Bobby Ewing SL pal!! stunning mate, did you know the U.S version came with
twin round headlamps?

They suit it to a T... ;)

This is the original Dallas one 450 SL, the small orange lights under the bumper are indicators, the ones next to headlamps are markers
so remain on with head lights..

Gary,

No...the car doesn't actually belong to me. It's a very, very long story!

The car actually belongs to the chap who currently owns a BMW E28 that I did about 5 years ago. It's the car that really put me on the 'BMW Map' for want of a better term.

I took an old, basic E28 528i and turned it into this:

http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/index.php?spgmGal=e28_slideshow

I sold it to someone who subsequently sold it to the chap who owns this R107 once I had done this E28 for him:

http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/index.php?spgmGal=m535

I then sold this E34 to a friend of the chap who now owns the white E28 and this R107:

http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/index.php?spgmGal=E34_525i_Saloon_Calypso_Red

I then sold this E28 to a friend of the chap who owns the black E28:

http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/index.php?spgmGal=Silver_E28_528i

On the very same day that I sold the Calypso Red E34 I bought this E34 540i....which is probably still (according to my wife and a local BMW enthusiast friend) the best car I have ever done!!!

http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/gallery/index.php?spgmGal=E34_540i_Saloon

Confused yet? lmao

No one appreciates this E34 because it is so subdued....but this last car is absolutely phenomenal. AND...it is the third from last (non-M5) E34 Saloon ever made made by BMW on the very last day of production! It still only has has 39K miles on the clock.

The R107 is a truly lovely car to look at...SO stylish... but for me it's not a 'nice' car to drive. Much too 'floaty' and nose-heavy. That's before we talk about "thirst" :faint:

I'd far rather drive our W124s!

6 years ago I bought in partnership with my uncle an A reg 500sl in petrol blue down in West Kingsdown as stones throw from Brands Hatch.

The Drive with the roof down is absolutely exhillarating even with the vague steering. Sadly My uncle loved it so much that he bought me out.

I really like that one that chris posted up, black mean machine

Wow Derin,

Great story!

All those 5 Series and each one a peach!

I have always liked the E34 because it's subtle. The latest BMW's are so aggressive and not really to my taste. The dark blue one is a wonderful looking machine  .

Keep up the good work!

Gary
