vibration when pulling away and turning left?

Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a 190d and when you pull away there is quite a loud vibration, this also happens when i turn left. I found the rubber donut on the propshaft closest the gearbox perished. I can understand why this would have an effect when pulling away but i can't see how it would make a noise when cornering left. I got my dad to put the car in gear and lift the clutch up slightly to get it to vibrate so i could check the mounts and found if i pull upwards on either side engine mount the noise almost goes away. The mounts themselves don't appear to be split or look worn at all. I've also checked the gearbox mount which also seems ok. Im going to replace the propshaft donut (unsure of proper name?) and see what happens but am just worried im still going to have a noise. Any advice or help would be much appreciated

Replace the engine mounts. They are filled with hydraulic oil and collapse over time making the engine sit too low. This will be the cause of the vibration when turning left.

It's also a good idea to change the front strut top mounts at the same time and also take the steering damper off to check if it's still damping correctly. It should be hard to push and pull it. If it shows little resistance it needs changing.

Just replaced the engine mounts and the front propshaft donut, and its made all the difference. I can now pull away without sounding like the engines going to fall out. Thanks for the advice
