As well as my 190E (which is currently off the road whilst I make some minor repairs to it) I have another car which I use daily. Complete opposite end of the scale to the Merc to be honest and it's different to what I usually go for - Nonetheless, its a crackling little motor and ideal for the daily commute. The car in question is a 2010 '10' registration Seat Ibiza 1.6 Sport - a smaller car than what I would generally go for, but not bad with it... ![]() ![]() ![]() And some previous steeds. I have a varying taste in cars, so there isn't a 'trend' as such - i.e. some people always buy Vauxhall's or Ford's etc. There's also a criss cross of old and new cars, a lot of them people probably wouldn't associate with me - due to the fact i'm only 22 and also that i've had 30+ cars in 5 years !! 2000 (X) Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6 CDX Auto - only owned for a brief period of time prior to getting the Ibiza - fuel costs were crippling, but the car was fantastic. My old man owns it now. ![]() 2007 (56) Vauxhall Vectra 1.8i Exclusiv - fantastic car, racked up a stupid amount of miles in the 12 months I had it, took all the abuse thrown at it. In hindsight I should never have sold it. ![]() 1997 (P) Rover 620 Si - One of two that I have owned! ![]() Left to right - 1998 (R) Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Club, 1998 (S) Volvo S40 1.6 (Same as the one in the pic above but this pic was pre private plate) and the other Rover 620 Si I had - a 1998 model. I should add that all 3 belonged to me but I only drove 2 - the Astra was what the girlfriend drove! ![]() 1994 (L) Vauxhall Calibra 2.5 V6 ![]() 2004 (54) Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Ghia X - Another fantastic car I should never have sold! ![]() My first car - 1997 (R) Seat Cordoba 1.4 SE - was in the family from new - oops!! ![]() Stripped ready for re-build ![]() Unfortunately I never got a photo of it completed, but its still kicking around so can't have been a bad repair! 1999 (T) Vauxhall Vectra SRi 140 ![]() The BEST car I ever bought. 1995 (N) Volvo 440. Bought off my mates dad (head of the service department at our local Volco dealership) it had been meticulously maintained. £100 saw the keys and 6 months MoT change hands, taxed it and ran it until it gave up - no, that's a lie, it's a Volvo. I sold it to a bloke for £400... ![]() 1993 (K) BMW 316i - Replaced the Volvo. Got it off my mate who dealt with re-possessed cars from short term 'log book' loans. £230 exchanged hands, unfortunately I ended up scrapping it. ![]() So, pointless thread but I was just digging around my computer and found some pics. Fortunately i've seen sense now and I no longer tax/mot/insure 3 cars at a time and take my pick for the daily commute - the Ibiza hacks around (mainly due to it having Business insurance cover) and the 190E is my toy! Basic lesson - i've blown a load of cash buying, maintaining and running cars and loved every second of it. Unfortunately i've had to grow up, I work way too hard for my money these days and I'm in the process of plowing what I've got saved into bricks and mortar. End result means I have so many plans for the 190 but its going to be one of those never-ending jobs I think ! |

That Volvo was amazing. Like I said it belonged to my mates old man and I remember when he passed his test he got put as a named driver on it. He ragged it to within an inch of its life for the year prior to me buying it and it still ran sweet as a nut. All it needed during my ownership was a water pump replacing which I did myself. It ran to well over 200k that I know of anyway... |

I always think its great looking back at cars that you've owned in the past. Always bound to raise a smile But we all have to grow up and our cars usually reflect this. I think when you are in your teens, you think nah I will never get a normal car etc etc, but roll on a few years and you end up doing just that
